The simple fact that
most individuals ignore as they go through their ever so busy lives is that “nothing
more directly affects your happiness as a human being than money”.
Many families have
broken down because of money mismanagement.
I know; some of you
MAY BE OFFENDED offended or even disagree with this notion, maybe even a little
upset that I’m challenging what our parents and teachers have taught us our
whole lives. You remember the teachings that “money can’t buy you happiness”. You
are therefore thinking; “How can she say money defines my ability to be happy?
After all, happiness is about all the things that are not centered around
money, all the things that money can’t buy _ such as love, respect, peace,
health”.
To some degree, I
understand and will agree with your point of view. After all you are slightly
correct.
Non-monetary states
of being such as these mentioned above are essential to a happy and abundant
life. And these achievements are not determined by what you have; rather by who
you are.
STILL I WILL
CHALLENGE YOU TO THIS WAY OF THINKING – one which we will be trying to each
develop
YOUR
QAULITY OF life and consequent ability for you to enjoy the life THAT you have
- takes you having money, AND LOTS OF MONEY.
My humble opinion is that money is there to serve you. The biblical parable of the talents is the classic example here. My disposition to money is entirely up to me. I believe with more money my spirituality is impacted holistically...I give more...invest more in spiritual resources and retreats etc. My prayers perhaps are more sincere... I don't have to pretend to be holy for God to bless me because I already am blessed.. Therefore my choice to live a holy life truly becomes me using the gift of free will. On the down side..I'm greedy...intolerant and proud when money is my master...
