Your Value Systems
Your
Time is Valuable
The second greatest investments
that you can make would be to ensure that your time is valuable and only spent
in the things that will serve to propel you to your financial freedom and destiny.
Like everything else
that we pursue in this life, there are certain codes that we need to adhere to
if we are to succeed, certain principles that define a life, specific conducts
that will create the personality that will become the best that you can be.
Until
we appreciate, embrace and live by some of these code of conducts, until we
define Who we are in relation to some of the experiences we will have, we are
usually so lost that we fail to live the life that we were created to, in love,
health and of course – with our Finances.
If you are to succeed
in the strategy of leveraging your time for money, you need to fully ensure
that Your Time is more valuable than all else that you seek to pursue. In all
else that you do, you need to accept that all you have is the here and now,
this moment that you face right this minute, and while tomorrow may be a
promise, a chance to make new decisions, remember that tomorrow may not be
yours to explore.
This may seem obvious
and easy enough to most on paper. But think about this for a few minutes, how
much time do you waste each day? How much time do you spend
§ doing
the very things that do not enhance who you are,
§ doing
things THAT you actually hate?
§ visiting
“friends” that you don’t truly care for or worse still who don’t like who you
are or how you live your life?
§ volunteering
for acts that don’t fulfill you just so you fit in and are liked?
§ following
the man/woman who has no love for you, dolling yourself up so you look good,
hoping just maybe he will pay some attention to you today, compliment your look
§ wining
and dining the friend who, as soon as you turn your back will be gossiping
about you because you have put on just a little weight?
I want all of you
from today onwards to take yourselves out of the “For Sale” rack.
Once you learn to
respect your right to be fully valued, you will not let any person take you for
granted, you will find it easy to demand for the world around you to respect
your values. Once you set your price, the world around you will meet it. When you walk through life knowing you are
more than, instead of less than; the world around you will feel your energy and
more will come to you.
Recognize that your
time has a lot of value. Do not go around just saying yes to anything without
calculating the time/cost of that decision. If you had to put a price to your
time on
§ Those
hours you spent driving to that man’s house to drop off that perfect present
you spent hours trying to find, that he won’t even say thank you for”,
§ all
the time you’ve wasted on people who do not value you, take into account the
emotional and financial toll of what you are giving away.
The financial burden
is obvious – are you being compensated accordingly for your time? The emotional
burden is – are you being appreciated? If your answer to any of these is no,
maybe, I’m not sure, you are certainly
not trading your time for wealth creation.
Use
your minutes wisely, you will never have them again
