Strategy 3 - Leverage self to Make Money

Leveraging yourself to earn money

It’s an amazing fact that most of us individuals hardly want to accept that truth that, we possess in our own beings, all the power to create, to become that which we want to become. The unlocking key being that we must Want to Become, Work at the Means to Become and never give up even as we face challenges (for challenges will find us).

For most people, it becomes easier to depend on someone else, to blame another thing; race, exposure, parents, past, whatever it is, just so that we can hide from the reality that – we did not succeed not because we never had the opportunity but because we didn’t use what God ably gave us – our minds, to Become the best that we can be, To make in this case, the most money that we could.

Multiple Sources of Income

The strategy of leveraging oneself to make money is the best strategy to employ for the person that wants to make a lot of money. Here you multiply your time through the many concerted efforts by setting up what we can term Multiple Sources of Income (MSI). This is without question, the very best way to increase your income. Make a decision to have many sources of income. It is after all the strategy that wealthy people have used dating back to the ancient times.

If you apply your mind to it, each one of us can multiply our income; simply by leveraging our God given abilities to create other opportunities to make more money. We all have numerous gifts, some in selling, other are creators, visionaries, others authors, singers, teachers. If you are a teacher for example – does it mean you can’t sell that same service to tutor on weekends and multiply your source of income? Shouldn’t you start a spaza shop business, plant vegetables to sell, consult and offer your service to those that will pay for it? Why is it that we are able to watch our mothers carry loads of fruits and vegetables to sell in the market and because we have earned a degree in Social Science, Mathematics or Economics for that matter we suddenly think we are better than they?

§  How many of you are really immobilized and poor because of stupid pride?

§  How many are truly able to humble themselves and come to the understanding that our very existence and the quality of life is correlated to the amount of input that goes into the equation of balancing life’s abundance and work?

§  Who ever saw a rich and fulfilled man that never worked hard for every cent?

Who can claim to not understand that the life you live today, the space you exist in financially and otherwise lies in your absolute control; its ability to be better, full and rich is only up to your ability to get out of that lazy chair, that proud and naïve state of mind and instead work hard for what you want from life.

No one owes you success but yourself!

The required wisdom

I implore you therefore to be a wise people. Wisdom is more than intellectual capacity and in no way is it related to how much schooling you have had.

Exercising wisdom requires cutting through all the loud noises and voices from naysayers. It requires you to tap into your own beliefs, looking at your own life and deciding what you need to do for yourself. A wise person recognizes when their life is out of balance and harmony and will summon the courage necessary to correct it.

A wise person knows how to summon the courage to do what is right, rather than what is easy.

Once you decide on the amount of money you want to make, start believing that amount of money is an effect. It represents a reward that you want to receive.

The question to ask yourself is what service can you render that would be deserving of that reward?

§  Think of how you can do whatever you do - more effectively.

§  Think of how you can improve the quality and quantity of the service you render.

§  Then think of how you can do something else to generate you more income.

Once you decide on what you can do to substantiate your income, get up and do it, do it with heart, conviction and most of all have fun doing it. There is no greater satisfaction in this life than to do what you “have to do” and still have fun doing it.

It’s become very unfortunate for me to observe though that this strategy of leveraging self to create wealth, whilst is the most beneficial, is only used by very few people, maybe even only 1% of our population. The reality though is that this 1% earns approximately 95% of all the money generated! You are only a decision away from membership to this 1% club of wealthy individuals.

Therefore get out of that lazy, blame intensive, self-pity mode and start making a life that you and your offspring can be proud of.
